Governance

The NLPSS board is made up of executive-level representatives from each trust in the partnership who agree on an annual business plan which is executed by the managing director. Within this structure, individual services are accountable to the managing director, who reports to the board.

NLPSS is hosted by The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, acting as the legal entity, contracting authority and main employer of staff.

Our culture

Excellent patient care, through an outstanding employee experience

We believe that if we provide an outstanding employee experience for both our own staff and those that use our support services, they in turn will provide an exemplary service for those that they care for. This commitment to all round excellence underpins all our interactions, from owning our mistakes to how we treat each other. We are respectful of our partners’ values and operate, hire and develop our people based upon our own complementary set of values:

  • Shared values
We are proud to join together as one team to provide support services for all of our partners in north central London. We value and respect all ideas; listening, learning and collaborating.
  • Cost effectiveness
NLPSS is about taking the best practice both from our partners and others within and outside of the NHS to offer an optimum service, building processes around the customer journey. We are always looking to streamline processes, removing duplication and inefficiencies, and ultimately asking how can we provide a better experience for our customers?
  • Teamwork
We understand that when things go wrong it can affect us all, which is why teamwork is one of our core values. We invest in the training of our staff so that everyone has the expertise to play their part within the team and recognise that continued development is essential to ensuring our ongoing strength and resilience.
  • Accountability
We are transparent and honest with our staff. Setting clear expectations for all roles, encouraging accountability rather than blame, and driving improvements from our mistakes.
